Rockies Provide Injury News on Chase Dollander
This isn't great news for the Colorado Rockies and their emerging ace.
Right-handed starting pitcher Chase Dollander left his start against the Pittsburgh Pirates early on Thursday due to what the Rockies are calling right arm tightness.

Dollander issued a walk in the second inning and was seen shaking his arm out. After throwing a few more pitches, the Rockies came out to check on the right-hander before lifting him from the game.

Dollander, 24, recorded just three outs while allowing five hits and a walk in this outing. He was charged with a total of three runs and his velocity was down a bit in his start.
The righty is having a breakout season with the Rockies in 2026, posting a 3.89 ERA in 10 appearances (three starts) and 44 innings. His fastball velocity is averaging 98.9 mph and his sinker is averaging 98.3 mph.
Dollander had a poor rookie season in 2025, where he went 2-12 with a 6.52 ERA in 21 starts.
The Rockies selected Dollander at No. 9 overall in the first-round of the 2023 MLB Draft.
Colorado will be hoping that Dollander's injury isn't serious and that he will not have to miss significant time.
However, the youngster is likely heading for imaging to determine the severity of his arm tightness. Any type of arm tightness is never a good sign for a pitcher.
The Rockies entered the day with a 17-26 record and in last place at 8.5 games back in the NL West.
