FIFA's World Cup Halftime Show Lineup Makes Super Bowl's Look Small

FIFA is one-upping the NFL when it comes to championship game halftime shows - in a pretty big way.

The NFL and the Super Bowl have been the king of halftime shows for decades. Huge names, from Prince to Snoop Dogg to Katy Perry to Lady Gaga, have all headlined the Super Bowl halftime show.

But the World Cup is coming this summer.

FIFA has decided to put on quite a show for the halftime show during the final game in July of 2026.

FIFA has announced their first ever halftime show for the World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Coldplay has announced that the halftime show would be curated by lead singer Chris Martin, who will be featuring some huge guests.

FIFA's World Cup halftime show lineup is impressive

The following guests will be welcomed for the halftime show:

  • Shakira
  • Madonna
  • BTS

That's three of the biggest names in pop.

The FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show will also "raise funds for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund," dedicated to "improving access to quality education and football for children around the world."

There will be a big opening ceremony in L.A., too.

"This opening ceremony in Los Angeles represents the extraordinary scale of what the FIFA World Cup 2026 will become," FIFA President Gianni Infantino said in a statement. "The lineup of artists reflects the cultural diversity of the United States and the vibrancy of its many diasporas, highlighting the nation's rich influence on music, entertainment and pop culture, while showcasing the power of music to bring people together across the country."

FOX has the broadcasting rights for the entire tournament.
