Jaden McDaniels Doesn't Hold Back on Victor Wembanyama's Incredible Height

Unanimous NBA Defensive Player of the Year Victor Wembanyama has lived up to the bill in the San Antonio Spurs‘ second-round playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves so far.

In the Spurs’ series-opening loss to the Timberwolves in Game 1, Wembanyama set a new all-time, single-game playoff record with 12 blocks - notching a triple-double in the process. The San Antonio superstar recorded 39 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks in Friday night’s Game 3 victory over Minnesota.

Even when Wembanyama doesn’t block a shot, he affects countless attempts and forces misses at the rim.

Timberwolves guard Jaden McDaniels was asked about Wembanyama’s defensive impact when speaking to reporters on Saturday.

"He's eight feet tall. He contests everything. He's just good at his job,” McDaniels said.

McDaniels was then asked if he knows how tall Wembanyama actually is.

“Nah, I just be throwing numbers out there. I don’t know how tall he is,” McDaniels replied. “When I see myself on the film next to him, he looks tall as hell.

“How tall does he feel? Like 10 feet. He’s tall as [expletive].”

Victor Wembanyama, one of the tallest players in NBA history, is 7 feet 4 inches tall.

McDaniels, who himself stands tall at 6 feet 9 inches, had been excellent for the Timberwolves through the 2026 playoffs, especially with Anthony Edwards sidelined by his knee injury. But he struggled in Friday night’s 115-108 Game 3 loss, recording 17 points on an inefficient 5/22 shooting from the field.
