Local Roundup: Benicia boys volleyball advances to the quarterfinals

Benicia 3, Berean Christian 1
The Benicia High boys volleyball team defeated Berean Christian in four sets on Thursday night to advance to the North Coast Section Division III quarterfinals.
The Panthers were led by Duncan Seeley, who registered 15 kills. Ian Nagata added nine kills of his own, while Remy Berg and Carlos Solla added six kills each.
Jeremy Young had 10 digs, while Nagata and Cruz Villanueva had eight each. Villaneuva had 29 assists, while Jacob Santos added 10 more.
Benicia advances to play No. 2 seed Emerald at Benicia High on Tuesday.
Cardinal Newman 3, Bethel 0
The Bethel High boys volleyball team lost to Cardinal Newman on Thursday in the second round of the North Coast Section Division IV playoffs.
The Jaguars lost 27-25, 25-23, 25-15. With the loss the Jaguars finished with an overall record of 17-11.
Owen Snyder led Cardinal Newman with 14 kills in the victory.
Baseball
St. Pat's 10, Vallejo 0
The St. Patrick-St. Vincent High baseball team defeated Vallejo 10-0 in six innings in the second round of the Tri-County Athletic League playoffs.
Madden Mendez led the Bruins with two hits, while Lucius Lissner and John Bibb each drove in two runs. Mendez stole four of the team's 17 stolen bases during the game. Royce Pennington stole three bases, as did Bibb.
Jaden Dichoco earned the win on the mound, throwing six innings and giving up just one hit while striking out 10.
St. Pat's plays Salesian on Wednesday.
