Rylee Silva threw a four-hitter with five strikeouts as Orange Lutheran’s softball team defeated host Santa Margarita 3-0 on Tuesday to clinch the Trinity League title.
Carlie Snyder, Malia Smith and Eliza Johnson drove in the runs for the Lancers (19-8, 6-3), who captured their seventh consecutive league title.
In another Trinity League game:
Mater Dei 9, JSerra 5: Savanah Duncan hit a grand slam to highlight a six-run first inning and Citlaly Valencia and Nevaeh Sanchez combined to scatter eight hits to lead the Monarchs (15-11, 4-5) at Fountain Valley Sports Park.
Audrey Eyler and Sophia Heiman each had two RBIs for Mater Dei and Ally Carrillo went 3 for 4.
Zena Edwards and Ava Geoghegan hit home runs for JSerra (20-8, 5-4).
In the Freeway League:
Yorba Linda 3, Villa Park 1: Freshman Erica Martin tossed five-hitter with four strikeouts and Grace Gomez had two RBIs as the visiting Mustangs (18-9, 8-4) swept the Spartans (13-14, 8-4) to earn a share of the league title.
