Ravens Make Decision to Sign Another QB After Diego Pavia Move
The Ravens are not done adding to their quarterback room. After already making the Diego Pavia move, Baltimore is now bringing in veteran Skylar Thompson to compete for the No. 3 quarterback spot.
Thompson gives the Ravens another experienced option behind the main names on the depth chart, and his arrival adds a little more competition going into offseason work. The 28-year-old has spent time with the Dolphins and Steelers, and while this is not a blockbuster signing, it does show Baltimore wants more depth and flexibility at the position.

A Closer Look at the Ravens Quarterback Room
The Ravens are clearly not treating the bottom of their quarterback depth chart as an afterthought.
Lamar Jackson is obviously the starter, and Tyler Huntley gives Baltimore a familiar backup option. After that, though, the team appears to want a real competition instead of simply handing the third spot to one of the rookies. That is where Skylar Thompson comes in.
Thompson gives Baltimore another veteran arm for offseason workouts and training camp. He is not being brought in to shake up the main quarterback picture, but he does give the Ravens someone with actual NFL snaps to compare against Diego Pavia and Joe Fagnano.
Pavia has already attracted attention because of his college profile, while Fagnano is also trying to earn his way into the conversation. But rookie minicamp is only the beginning. Once camp gets going, the Ravens will want to see who handles the playbook, the pace, and the pressure best.
For Thompson, this is a useful fresh start after an injury-hit year in Pittsburgh. His previous time in Miami gave him some starting experience, and that alone can help in a room filled with younger developmental options.
Baltimore may still only keep two or three quarterbacks when the roster is cut down, but carrying five for now gives the coaches more flexibility. The message is pretty clear: behind Jackson and Huntley, nobody is being gifted a spot.
