Radio Host: Pats Knew About Dianna Russini Situation Before Mike Vrabel Photos

The Mike Vrabel-Dianna Russini scandal just won't go away.

Vrabel pulled a disappearing act over the weekend during the final day of the 2026 NFL draft to reportedly attend counseling, but Page Six published photos on Monday of Vrabel allegedly shopping in Salt Late City for a present for his wife.

Patriots executive vice president of player personnel Eliott Wolf implied to reporters during the draft that Vrabel's absence was necessary amid the Russini scandal.

"So last night, we kind of talked through things and made the decision that the time away really needs to be time away," Wolf said. "We were not in contact with Mike today other than some ‘hope everything's going okay' kind of text early this morning."

Monday morning, WEEI radio hosts Adam Jones and Tim Keefe discussed whether or not the Patriots actually knew about the Russini situation. Jones speculated that the team knew about it long before the Page Six published the original photos of Vrabel and Russini together earlier this month.

"The whole league kind of knew what was going on and everybody just kind of chose to look the other way," Jones said. "I find it hard to believe the whole league is gossiping about Vrabel and Russini and what they're up to - this has been going on for at least six years - and the Patriots had no idea."

Jones also put forth his best guess as to why the Patriots haven't fired Vrabel yet - something fans have been advocating for on social media for weeks.

"If the Patriots and the Krafts were blindsided by this, that is where Vrabel could get in some trouble," he said. "If they had an idea what was going on and it started to unravel and they asked Vrabel about it and they're like, come clean and he told the truth, then that's probably why he's here."
