Two NASCAR Veterans to Take the Green Flag in Kaulig Racing's RAM Truck

The Kaulig Racing RAM Trucks team has announced its upcoming lineup of "Free Agent" drivers. The duo slated to race at Dover and San Diego will be racing veterans and now commentators, Clint Bowyer and Jamie McMurray.

RAM Trucks has run their No. 25 Truck all season long as a "Free Agent" vehicle. The goal is to market the new team with their new OEM, featuring unique and competitive stars from all spectrums of racing. So far this season, the Truck has featured the likes of Tony Stewart, Ty Dillon, and Corey LaJoie.

Clint Bowyer

The last time Bowyer raced in NASCAR was in 2024 at Nashville Superspeedway. Bowyer had teamed up with Spire Motorsports in their No. 7 truck, resulting in 17th place. In Bowyer's Cup Series career, he has 541 starts and 10 wins under his belt, last being at Michigan in 2018 for Stewart-Haas Racing.

Bowyer will suit up at Dover Motor Speedway, where he started 30 times in the Cup Series, having never won at the 'Monster Mile.'

Jamie McMurray

McMurray's last race of any type, like Bowyer, was with Spire Motorsports. McMurray ran for the team's No. 7 car in the Cup Series at Daytona. McMurray finished very strongly in 8th place.

In total, McMurray has 25 career Truck Series starts, winning 1 race in 2004 at Martinsville. In San Diego, McMurray will take to the street course format, which he has never run. However, McMurray has 33 career road-course starts in the Cup Series, with zero wins.

The No. 25 team of this 'Free Agent' RAM Truck has been nothing better than average this season. In its 6 starts across 6 different drivers, the No. 25 has an average result of 20th place. The best results were Colin Braun at the Grand Prix at St. Petersburg (9th) and Ty Dillon at EchoPark (Atlanta - 11th).

The worst finish was Tony Stewart, who exited the Daytona race early, resulting in 36th. Other than that, the Truck has no worse than 22nd place in race results.

RAM has 5 drivers on its Kaulig Racing team. One driver (Justin Haley) is in the current playoff picture (10th), and Brenden "Butterbean" Queen is the only other driver in the top-20 of the driver standings (14th).

The expectations of Bowyer and McMurray will not be as high as they are headline-making. A top-10 would be a big win for the team on paper.
