Six Orange County teams in Division 1 for CIF-SS boys volleyball playoffs

Six Orange County boys volleyball teams are in the 12-team bracket for Division 1 in the CIF Southern Section playoffs.

Sunset League champion Huntington Beach, Trinity League champion Santa Margarita and South Coast League champion Tesoro are in Division 1. So are Sunset League members Corona del Mar, Los Alamitos and Newport Harbor and the Trinity League's Mater Dei.

The playoffs begin Tuesday in some divisions, Wednesday in others.

Among the first-round matchups Wednesday in Division 1: Los Alamitos at Tesoro, Mater Dei at Corona del Mar.

The first-round schedule Tuesday for Division 2 includes: Orange Lutheran at Beckman, San Juan Hills at San Clemente, and San Juan Hills at San Clemente.

The CIF-SS boys volleyball playoffs have nine divisions.

The finals are May 15 and 16.

The Division 1 final will be at Cerritos College.
