Six Inland lacrosse teams seeded for this year's CIF Southern Section playoffs
The CIF Southern Section on Friday morning released the pairings for this year’s boys and girls lacrosse playoffs.
A total of 21 Inland teams - 11 girls and 10 boys - qualified for this year’s section playoffs.
Murrieta Mesa finished 12th in the final girls rankings and earned the No. 4 seed in Division 2. The Rams, champions of the Southwestern League, also received a first-round bye and host Sherman Oaks Notre Dame or Anaheim Canyon in a second-round match Thursday, April 30.
Three other Inland girls teams finished high enough in the rankings to compete in Division 2. Big VIII League champion Roosevelt hosts University in a first-round match Tuesday. Murrieta Valley will travel to San Juan Hills on Tuesday, while Chaparral makes the trip to Laguna Beach.
Santiago and Great Oak received the No. 1 seed and No. 2 seed, respectively, in the Division 3 girls bracket. Both teams also have a first-round bye. Santiago hosts Downey or Dos Pueblos on April 30, while Great Oak hosts King or Cate in a second-round match that same day.
On the boys side, Southwestern League champion Vista Murrieta and Big VIII League champion Centennial secured first-round home matches in the Division 2 playoffs. Vista Murrieta hosts Dos Pueblos on Wednesday April 29, while Centennial hosts El Segundo that same day.
