Fantasy Football Reaction to Saints Drafting Jordyn Tyson in Round 1

The New Orleans Saints chose Arizona State wideout Jordyn Tyson at No. 8 overall to partner with Chris Olave and give quarterback Tyler Shough two of the most dangerous receivers in the NFL.

When healthy, Tyson brings a polished receiving game built around timing, body control, and dependable ball skills. He runs routes with enough detail to separate underneath and at the intermediate level, and he tracks the ball well when throws arrive outside his frame. His game is not built only on straight-line speed, but he has enough acceleration and run-after-catch ability to turn routine completions into chunk plays. That skill set gives him a path to early snaps as a steady chain mover with room to grow into a larger target share. The biggest concern here is durability.

2026 Jordyn Tyson Fantasy Football Outlook

Shough developed nicely once taking the field as a rookie in 2025, and he showed considerable chemistry with Olave. But the former Ohio State standout has a history of concussions to the extent managers must worry just how much football Olave has left in him should he suffer another one. Thinking positively, this will be a dangerous tandem to cover, and when you toss in last year's breakout tight end Juwan Johnson, veteran RB Alvin Kamara, and free-agent runner Travis Etienne ... the Saints will be a tough team to script against.

Tyson has immense upside to make big things happen even on a limited target share, but that also could make him erratic as a rookie. For now, he's a high-upside, shaky-floor WR4/flex consideration. Given his elite potential, fantasy gamers probably will overvalue him in Year 1. The silver lining is that Kamara and Olave are injuries waiting to happen, so a path to more targets is not hard to see.
