Titans No Longer Expected to Draft Jeremiyah Love: Report
Tennessee Titans fans might not want to get too attached to fantasies of quarterback Cam Ward and running back Jeremiyah Love sharing a backfield in 2026.
ESPN’s Peter Schrager projected Love to go to the Titans as the No. 4 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft, but after talking to someone within the Titans organization, Schrager changed his mind.
“I don’t think the Titans are taking Jeremiyah Love anymore,” Schrager said on his “Schrager Hour” podcast on Monday. “I am moving off of that. That was something I had in my mock draft and felt like that was the pick. As we are now four days before it, I do not think the Titans are taking Jeremiyah Love at four.”
Instead, Schrager’s new intel has led him to believe the Titans will either take former Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles, the linebacker out of Ohio State, or whoever is still on the board between former Texas Tech edge rusher David Bailey and former Ohio State edge rusher Arvell Reese.”
Schrager said former Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate is also in play for Tennessee.
Despite all the defensive additions the Titans signed in free agency, newly hired head coach Robert Saleh has a defensive background. So, it would be very characteristic of him to opt for Styles, Bailey, or Reese over an offensive skill player - even one as explosive as Love.
So, what would this mean for Love?
He’ll be fine.
Love is universally viewed as a can’t-miss blue-chipper, so he won’t fall out of the top 10. The Heisman finalist racked up 1,652 all-purpose yards and 21 total touchdowns last season at Notre Dame.
New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh is “especially high” on Love, per ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, and the Giants hold the Nos. 5 and 10 overall picks after trading defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence II to the Cincinnati Bengals over the weekend.
Since the 2026 NFL Combine at the end of February, Love has been tied at one point or another to the Titans, Giants, Washington Commanders (No. 7 overall), New Orleans Saints (No. 8 overall), and Kansas City Chiefs (No. 9 overall).
The Saints and Chiefs signed running back Travis Etienne Jr. and running back Kenneth Walker III, respectively, in free agency, which signaled that they did not believe Love would still be on the board at No. 8 or No. 9 overall.
Now, the Arizona Cardinals have become a last-minute popular possible destination for Love at No. 3 overall.
The good news is that we only have to endure three more days of rumors until the first round of the 2026 NFL draft starts at 8 p.m. EST on Thursday.
