Danica Patrick Endorses Former NFL Player Jay Feely For Congress

Former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick is already locked in on the 2026 midterm elections.

Patrick, who retired from NASCAR in 2018, spent her Friday night with President Donald Trump and a few notable politicians at an event for Turning Point USA. Although she wasn't always considered a political person, she said she was "red pilled" after attending one of Charlie Kirk's events in 2024.

"It was only a little over a year ago that I went to my first ever political event, which was AmFest here in Phoenix, Charlie Kirk's big event," Patrick said. "I mean at that point in time, hopefully without people judging, I didn't know who Charlie was. Like I had never paid attention to politics, and in fact, quite specifically avoided the news and had since like 2018. So after going to that event, I posted some photos of my sister and I, and it just said that ‘I love this country' and it was a divisive comment to so many and grabbed a lot of attention, which was ridiculous."

Two years later, Patrick is chatting with the president at a Turning Point USA event.

Not only did Patrick catch up with Trump on Friday, she endorsed former NFL kicker Jay Feely for Congress.

In April 2025, Feely announced that he's running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Arizona's 5th Congressional District. Clearly, he's earned Patrick's support.

"Building the red wall starts in Arizona. Big athlete turnout yesterday in Phoenix. Shared the stage with @jeremyroenick to introduce our friend @jayfeely who is running for congress," Patrick wrote on Instagram. "So much respect for high achievers that pivot into a whole new profession! Jay was an NFL kicker then tv broadcaster and now…. Politics. Most importantly, a good human with good values and so much passion for making this country great."

"Oh, and my friend @potus. First pic was me telling him how how much I love his buddy @danawhite and going my first @ufc fight after meeting him last November at the MAHA summit. What a wild weird and amazing life I get to live. Another amazing event put on by @turningpointusa."

Why did Jay Feely become a politican?

Feely spent 14 years in the NFL, making 332-of-402 field goal attempts. He then spent a decade in the broadcast booth as a color commentator for CBS.

So why did Feely leave CBS behind? He claims he has a desire to get in office and help Americans out.

"I'm excited about this next chapter of my life," Feely told ESPN. "I think that I feel God's calling pressing me into service, and that's really what I believe it is, is the civil service. I don't believe we have enough politicians that get into political office not for self-serving measures and that get into political office and don't want it to be a career, and that's what I believe. I believe it is very much a civil service."

Time will tell if Feely has won over the public's trust.
