The welterweight division reaches a pivotal crossroads this weekend as the UFC returns to Canada for an event that will either signal the changing of the guard or reestablish the footing of a divisional gatekeeper.

Sleeper Fights to Watch
The co-main event between bantamweights Kyler Phillips and Charles Jourdain promises high-level striking and unpredictable exchanges. Jourdain, fighting in his home country, will look to use his creative and explosive kickboxing to neutralize Phillips' movement and volume.
Additionally, the flyweight clash between ranked contenders Jasmine Jasudavicius and Karine Silva carries significant divisional implications for the title conversation in a division ruled by Valentina Shevchenko. Their fight will be a clash of two grapplers with intense physicality.
Main Event
The betting lines currently favor the Canadian, with Malott listed as a -320 favorite while Burns sits as a +235 underdog, according to FanDuel.
Despite the odds, an upset from "Durinho" is within the realm of reasonable probability thanks to his durability and pressure, coupled with the unproven nature of Malott.
I will be especially fixated on whether or not Malott has learned from his loss against Neil Magny. Sure, he has had three victories since then, but his inability to deal with Magny's wrestling getups back in 2024 makes Burns a real threat if the fight hits the ground.
While I still agree with the odds, the three fights Malott has won since that loss have still not tested him in that realm, in my humble opinion.
