More bad news: Kings provide updated timeline for Domantas Sabonis’ injury

The Sacramento Kings provided an update on Domantas Sabonis’ injury Friday. The news was not good.

The team said Sabonis will miss at least another month as he recovers from a partially torn meniscus in his left knee. Sabonis is expected to be reevaluated in four to five weeks.

The Kings (6-21) announced the news as they prepared to face the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento. They have dealt with injuries to numerous players this season, including Zach LaVine and Keegan Murray.

Sabonis has not played since Nov. 16. He has appeared in 11 games this season, averaging 17.2 points, 12.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.2 steals.

Sabonis, 29, is a two-time All-Star and a three-time All-NBA Third Team selection. He helped the Kings secure the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference in 2022-23, ending the longest playoff drought in NBA history after 16 consecutive losing seasons.
