Former Washington Union star Tory Horton headed to this NFC West team after being drafted
Former Washington Union High star Tory Horton was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
He is the lone player from the Fresno-area to be drafted by an NFL team.
In fact, Horton was in Fresno when the Seahawks notified him they were selecting him.
“Just being that underdog, and having that no-name mentality,” Horton told the Seattle media. “I was never the flashy guy who wanted to be out there, I always stayed back with the shadows, just being that overlooked person, going out there to dominate, turning heads all over the map. People were watching that game saying ,’Who is this kid?’ That is something I tried to do. I try to step back and control. Me just being that underdog, and having that mentality to try to dominate every rep and every play and it just kind of shows.”
Horton played at Colorado State after transferring from Nevada in 2021.
Horton was described as being one “of the best receivers to come through Fort Collins.” He posted back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons before he had an injury against San Jose State this past season.
He said his knee is getting better and cannot wait to get going.
Horton told reporters he patterns his game after Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Davante Adams.
“I like to watch Davante Adams,” he said. “He plays with a chip on his shoulder, he’s been doing it a really long time, coming out of Fresno State. I’ve watched quite a bit of him. I’m trying to follow some of the greats.”
