Ex-Firebaugh High/Reedley College star Josh Allen signs record-breaking contract with Bills
Former Firebaugh High and Reedley College standout Josh Allen got paid substantially.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Allen got a record-setting six-year, $330 million through the 2030 season. He will also get $250 million guaranteed.
It is a big day for Allen who starred at Firebaugh before going to Reedley. His story has been documented when he had no scholarship offers while playing for the Eagles and then the Tigers.
Allen sent out messages in hopes of getting a Division I scholarship offer. No coaches bothered with Allen until the University of Wyoming took a chance on him. It turned out well for Allen and the Cowboys.
In two seasons with Wyoming, he had 5,833 yards, including 5,066 passing yards and 767 rushing yards. He also had 57 touchdowns.
All that led to his first-round selection (seventh overall) by the Bills in the 2018 NFL draft. Ever since playing for the Bills, he has gone to three Pro Bowls and won his first NFL Most Valuable Player award this past season after finishing with 3,731 passing yards with 28 touchdowns against six interceptions. He also had 531 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. Allen has led Buffalo to two AFC championship appearances.
For his career, Allen is 76-34.
