Hanford golfer Lane Pulliam wins Visalia Junior Am
Lane Pulliam finished seven strokes under par to win his second Visalia City Junior Open title in three years on Tuesday.
The Hanford High standout and Fresno Bee Boys Golfer of the Year had little trouble at the two-day, 36-hole individual stroke-play tournament at Valley Oaks Golf Course.
Pulliam was 4 under after Monday’s first-round on the Lakes (nine holes; 3,241 yards) and Valley (nine; 3,230 yards) courses. He took off three strokes in the final round, played on the Oaks (nine; 3,334 yards) and Lakes courses. The 16-year-old has also won two straight Len Ross Fresno City Junior Amateur titles.
Bryce Loosigian (Clovis North) was second in the boys 16-18 age bracket, at 1-under 143. Michael Cliff (Fresno Christian), the Bee’s small schools Golfer of the Year, finished an even 144, for a three-way tie for third with Drake Jones (Exeter) and Dakota Rhea (Redwood).
In the girls flight, Hayden Mammen (Clovis) trimmed three strokes in her final round to win the title at 2-under 143. Danielle Kinder (Lemoore) was runner-up at 1-over 146.
