Tulare’s Richard Torrez Jr. too much for his latest opponent, picking up TKO win

Tulare native Richard Torrez Jr. made quick work on his latest opponent.

Torrez (9-0, 9 KOs) bulldozed through Don Haynesworth at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Ariz., winning by technical knockout in 2 minutes, 19 seconds of the first round.

His knockouts have come mostly in the first round, winning five of those fights.

Torrez dominated as soon as the start of the first round and landed several straight left-handed shots on Haynesworth that sent him to the ropes.

Torrez didn’t let up until the referee stepped in to wave off the fight.

He made his pro debut at the Save Mart Center in Fresno in March 2022, coming off a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
