A former U.S. men’s national team player will be the next coach of League One’s Central Valley Fuego FC soccer club, according to reports.

The Athletic reported that Jermaine Jones will be announced as Fuego coach and start with the club Nov. 1. The report was based on anonymous sources.

It would be Jones’ first head coaching job.

The 41-year-old Jones had an extensive playing career for Schalke 04, Blackburn Rovers and Eintracht Frankfurt, and the LA Galaxy, New England Revolution and Colorado Rapids of the MLS.

He was a midfielder for the U.S. National Team from 2010 to 2017.

In 2014, Jones made his World Cup debut and played 90 minutes in a 2-1 win over Ghana. Jones was instrumental against Portugal, down 1-0 when he scored from 25 yards. The match ended in a 2-2 draw.

Edison Gonzalez was the Fuego interim head coach this past season. The Fuego went 6-21-5.
