Former Fresno State standout running Ronnie Rivers is on the Los Angeles Rams’ initial 53-man roster.

Cut down day throughout the NFL was Tuesday as teams had to get down to mandated roster by 1 p.m. PDT.

Rivers signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Rams last season and appeared in eight games and had 21 yards on nine carries.

He played in the preseason and had 21 carries for 105 yards.

Other former Fresno State and Fresno-area standouts weren’t as fortunate Tuesday.

Those cut include: WR Jalen Moreno-Cropper (Cowboys), WR Niko Remigio (Chiefs), RB Jordan Mims (Bills), OL Alex Akingbulu (Commanders), G Netane Muti (Raiders), LB Mykal Walker (Bears), LB David Perales (Steelers), WR KeeSean Johnson (Bills), LB Arron Mosby (Packers), DT Kevin Atkins (Giants), S Juju Hughes (Cardinals).

Former Clovis West standouts QB Adrian Martinez was cut by the Lions and the Cardinals released S Andre Chachere.

Former Tulare Union standout WR/KR Kazmier Allen was waived by the Commanders.

Most players figure to clear waivers and end up on the club’s 16-player practice squad or picked up by another team by Wednesday.

Roster locks were QB Josh Allen (Bills), QBs Derek Carr (Saints) and Jake Haener (Saints), WR Davante Adams (Raiders), CB DaRon Bland (Cowboys), LB Eric Kendricks (Chargers), TE David Wells (Buccaneers) and CB Jaylon Johnson (Bears).

Mims reunites with Haener

Jordan Mims reportedly goes from the Bills to the Saints and reunites with Haener.

Mims will be on the Saints’ practice squad.

Moreno-Cropper, meanwhile, re-signed with the Cowboys and is on the practice squad.
