Reedley College notes: T.J. Jennings named men’s hoops coach; Hall dinner Aug. 8
T.J. Jennings, the interim men’s basketball coach for at Reedley College this past season, will take over the post permanently.
Jennings was previously head coach of the women’s program at Foothill College (2013-14) and the men’s team at Porterville College (2009-12), where he earned the Central Valley Conference’s co-Coach of the Year award in his third season. Jennings also was an assistant for the Tigers women’s basketball program (2007-09).
In addition to coaching, Jennings will teach health and physical education classes at Reedley.
“I’m blessed to have the opportunity to fulfill a dream and lead the men’s program with our impressive core of student-athletes,” Jennings said in a news release. “My vision is that we build not only a great program but continue to develop and support young men, preparing them for life after Reedley College.”
Jennings, of Sacramento, played basketball at Fresno Pacific from 1999-2004 and was named Sunbird of the Year after his senior season.
We are excited to have T.J. as he possesses a wealth of basketball knowledge, and he is an outstanding fit for our program and community. He is very enthusiastic and passionate about his role as a coach and is fully committed to our student athletes.

Reedley College Athletic DirectorSeven to be inducted to Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame
Reedley College announced its 2015 class of Hall of Famers last week.
This year’s inductees are: Rudy Bergthold (football, 1970-72), Steve Eaton (football, 1973-75), Matt Koontz (men’s golf, 2003-05), Crystal Martin (women’s volleyball, 1992-94), Amy Parrish (women’s basketball, 2003-04), David Sharp (football, 1972-74) and current Cal State Fullerton men’s basketball coach Dedrique Taylor (men’s basketball, 1992-93).
The seven athletes will be honored at the 24th annual Hall of Fame banquet scheduled for Aug. 8 at the college cafeteria. The event starts at 6 p.m. with the dinner and program at 7 p.m.
Tickets cost $35 for adults, $25 for Tiger Athletic Hall of Famers and $15 for children ages 10 and under.
