Raiders’ Henry Ruggs III charged with DUI after deadly fiery Las Vegas crash, police say

The Las Vegas Police Department is investigating a deadly fiery crash involving Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III early Tuesday morning.

Police said the crash happened at 3:39 a.m., near the intersection of South Rainbow Boulevard and South Spring Valley Parkway, involving a Chevrolet Corvette and a Toyota Rav4.

A person was found dead inside the Toyota who was identified by police as a 23-year-old woman.

Police said the front of the Chevrolet collided with the rear of the Toyota.

The driver of the Chevrolet, whom police identified as 22-year-old Henry Ruggs III, remained at the scene and showed signs of impairment, police said.

He was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger in Ruggs III vehicle, identified as 22-year-old Kiara Kilgo-Washington, suffered serious injuries, police said.

Ruggs III was booked into Clark County Detention Center and charged with DUI resulting in death and reckless driving.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Raiders released a statement.

“The Raiders are aware of an accident involving Henry Ruggs III that occurred this morning in Las Vegas. We are devastated by the loss of life and our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim’s family. We are in the process of gathering information and will have no further comment at this time.”

Late Tuesday, the Raiders released Ruggs.
