The Fresno City College wrestling team made history Saturday, winning another state wrestling championship.

It marked the first time a school has won four consecutive state championships.

Only Fresno City (2010-12), El Camino (1964-66) and San Bernardino Valley (1959-61) had won three consecutive titles.

The Rams, who were tournament hosts, totaled 186 points and had seven wrestlers advance to the championship rounds in six weight classes.

Four Fresno City wrestlers were champions: Daniel Ruiz at 149 pounds, Josh McMillan (157), Jack Kilner (197) and Armando Barcenas (285).

Coach Paul Keysaw has led Fresno City teams to nine state titles and 12 overall in 25 years coaching at the junior college level.

The wrestling team joins the Fresno City men’s soccer team to win a state title this season.
