Las Chivas de Guadalajara, the most popular team in Mexico, will meet Monarcas Morelia in an international friendly on July 10 at Chukchansi Park.

The match is set for 7 p.m.

“This is an exciting time to be a soccer fan in Fresno as we’re thrilled to host two world-class clubs in Las Chivas and Monarcas Morelia,” Fresno FC general manager Frank Yallop said in a news release. “Every time Las Chivas and Liga MX clubs come to the Valley, downtown Fresno transforms into an incredible sporting atmosphere and we can’t wait to host them again.”

The July 10 match is the 14th international friendly featuring LigaMX clubs in Fresno over the past eight years, and the fourth for Las Chivas.

The last time the Guadalajara-based club played at Chukchansi Park, 11,977 fans came out to watch them play, also against Monarcas Morelia.

In July 2018, Club America and Club Atlas played in front of 10,767 fans.

Las Chivas are coached by Tomás Boy, who was appointed to his role on April 10 and feature Mexican National Team players Alan Pulido, Alexis Vega, Isaac Brizuela and Raul Gudiño.

Monarcas Morelia is led by Argentine manager Javier Torrente and features players on its roster like Peruvian National Team striker Irven Avila, Chilean National Team footballers Sebastian Vegas and Rodrigo Millar, and Mexican National Team midfielder Mario Osuna.

The two clubs are currently in the middle of the Liga MX Clausura playoffs.

Tickets, $35-$100, go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the Chukchansi Park box office, Don Roberto Jewelers and online at FresnoFC.com, TicketsVIP.net, and Ticketon.com.

Fresno FC home – After a rare two-week break in the United Soccer League Championship schedule, Fresno FC returns to action Friday night against Orange County SC. The match is set for 7:30 p.m. at Chukchansi Park.

Early in the 34-game schedule Freson (2-0-3) sits in 10th place and Orange County (2-3-2) is 12th in the Western Conference. The top 10 make the playoffs beginning in late October.
