Fresno City went chasing a ninth straight win in Battle for Pump rivalry with Reedley

Make it nine straight victories for the Fresno City College football team against Reedley.

And that means the Rams get to keep The Pump for another season.

Trey McJunkin completed 14 of 21 passes for 207 yards and three touchdowns for the Rams in a 45-21 victory over the Tigers on Saturday night at Sal Gonzalez Field in Reedley.

Fresno City receiver Terry Toler tallied two touchdowns as the Rams finished the nonconference portion of their season 3-2.

The “Battle for the Pump” series started in 1972, with the Rams winning 13 straight. The teams halted the series in 1989, but resumed in 1994.

Reedley’s last victory was in 2008 – 41-28 over the Rams at Ratcliffe Stadium.

Fresno City leads overall 47-13.

Reedley fell to 1-4 this season.
