The Fresno Bee this week takes its biggest step yet on our journey toward a more digitally focused, sustainable future. We’re switching to three days of print newspapers beginning with Sunday’s paper.

The print editions will now publish Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, delivered along with your mail. For most readers, the Sunday newspaper will arrive with Saturday’s mail.

Here are a few key points to know about the new print schedule:

  • Puzzles and games: The three print editions will include extra pages to make up for the lost print days. For example, Wednesday’s paper will now include puzzles and game pages that would have gone into the Monday and Tuesday editions.

  • The Edition: Because of the change, we’re able to dedicate resources into more digital offerings, such as The Edition. Think of this product as our daily “best of” Fresno news seven days a week. It’s brand new and has the look and feel of your print paper, but completely digital. Activate at https://eedition.fresnobee.com and take a spin through it.

  • Comics: You’ll find these in your three printed papers and seven days a week in The Edition.

  • Digital activation: If you get the print paper, you’re entitled to digital access. To get the most out of your Fresno Bee experience, please activate at fresnobee.com/activate.

  • Website, apps, social media, newsletters: We update our website, apps, social media accounts and newsletters seven days a week.

  • Questions? Need help with access or activation, please call customer service at 800-877-3400

The electronic edition will continue to publish seven days a week at fresnobee.com and in our digital app. And we’ll continue to publish news digitally throughout the day, every day.

Our news gathering is just as thorough and complete as ever. Our reporters live in the area and care about the community. You can find their picture and a short biography at the end of each local story we publish online.

With digital, we’re able to track which stories are popular with you, our subscribers, and then adjust our coverage plans.

Resoundingly, you’ve asked for in-depth reporting of local news and information, such as our coverage led by Thaddeus Miller of the recent police chief scandal, helpful information from reporter Joshua Tehee about day-trip options to escape the heat wave, or the recent profile from reporter Melissa Montalvo of Adrian’s Mexican Food, a decades-old mainstay that makes its own flour tortillas.

We’ll keep bringing you stories like these and more as we continue our evolution as a digitally focused operation.
