Fresno City Councilman Lee Brand helped to rescue our neighborhood

Our neighborhood was having major problems due to a woman who had too many cats, as many as 15-20 at one time. Fresno city code allows four animals. The animals roamed the neighborhood causing health issues from flies and stench.

Neighbors with children could not even allow their toddlers to play in their own yards due to the leavings of the many cats. The neighbor refused to get her cats neutered.

Additionally, the neighbor has a swimming pool, which was greenish black and a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Mosquito abatement came and set traps, learning that two types of mosquitoes were prevalent: one which can carry West Nile virus and the other the Aedes aegypti which can carry the Zika virus.

A petition was signed by about 18 neighbors asking for help from the mayor, Fresno City Council members and the health department. Only one city council member responded: Lee Brand.

Mr. Brand contacted the appropriate people who could help. Because of his efforts, we see some progress with a very serious situation.

We are grateful that Mr. Brand helped us resolve the problem. . He has my vote for mayor!
