Judge candidates by same measure as Olympians

NBC’s Matt Lauer, 59, “interview” (interrogation) of 12-time Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte, 32, made me literally out of breath.

“I was drunk...I over-exaggerated the story…I’m sorry…I let my country down…It was foolish…”

Each thought he formulated with great pain, embarrassment and regret. I couldn’t watch this man’s humiliation over and over again. He sacrificed so much in his life that is unknown for Mr. Lauer, who quit his studding and marriages to lecture others about excellence.

“Enough already!” I demanded and left the room.

Eighty days before the national election, my question is, if lying and exaggeration is a very shameful act for an Olympian, is this a “passing credential” for first lady, senator, secretary of state and an impeached president and adulterer?
