Let Gary Johnson, Jill Stein enter presidential debates

On its website, the Commission on Presidential Debates states that it was established “to ensure that debates “provide the best possible information to viewers and listeners.”

It’s time for the commission to put its money where its mouth is. It is a disgrace to our republic that a nonprofit, nonpartisan group restricts our debates to only two candidates by imposing an arbitrary polling requirement of 15 percent.

In the interest of freedom of information, any candidate with enough ballot access to have a mathematical possibility of winning, like Libertarian Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein, should be included in the debates.
