Foundation scores big by signing Ashley Swearengin
When a major league team signs a free agent, all-star player, the fans exult. Yes, now we are going to win.
That’s the way I feel about the news that Mayor Ashley Swearengin will become CEO of the Central Valley Community Foundation. After the recent revelations about the foundation board, its former CEO and the questionable spending, Swearengin is the right person to restore donor confidence, budgeting will be appropriate again, and grants will be allocated to projects beneficial to the region.
The foundation has blasted a home run, tossed a touchdown pass and hit a three-point shot, all in one.
