Can’t wait to drag Fulton in a Corvette again
I’ve lived long enough to see two really terrible wrongs corrected. The first wrong, the closing of Fulton Street in 1964. The second, the Rams move from Los Angeles.
Closing Fulton was heartbreaking for this 1963 McLane High School graduate. Fulton was our place to hang out and meet ladies on Friday and Saturday nights. In fact, my best buddy married the pretty young lady he met while dragging Fulton in our borrowed black Corvette convertible.
I once loved pro football and my team was the Rams. When they moved, I lost my team and I slowly lost my interest in the sport. Today I have no interest in sports and in some way, I attribute this to their move.
Now these two terrible wrongs have all been fixed. This season the Rams will have moved back to L.A. In 2017, Fulton Street will open once again to cars. I look forward to the night when my dear wife, my best gal, and I can jump into our Corvette and once again drag Fulton Street on a Friday or Saturday night. I may be old but I can still remember!
