Recycling center crime magnet: Help us, Esmeralda Soria

I’m glad that crime has decreased in the Tower District, however, my neighborhood has seen an increase in crime.

It is due to the recycling center on the southwest corner of West and Shields avenues. It was recently moved from the Westlan shopping center. I don’t appreciate my neighborhood being stuck with this nuisance.

I can’t even pick up prescriptions at the local drug store without beggars and druggies wanting money. We have seen garbage, human waste, people digging through garbage, taking baths in our yards using our water hoses and God only knows what else they do. We want the recycling center out of our neighborhood.

So how about it, Fresno City Councilmember Esmeralda Soria, can you help us out?
