Trump is ‘the child in the room’

Aug. 4 letter writers suggested in two posts that Donald Trump’s financial expertise and Hillary Clinton’s reputation detailed in the book, “Clinton Cash,” has convinced them that Hillary is the real “moral pygmy” and Donald is the only one who can fix our “devastating situation.”

“Get educated,” the writers said. So I did. A study of U. S. financials in the last 100 years finds the following conclusions: Republicans are responsible for our vast debt, shrinking middle class, underperforming gross domestic product and poor stock markets. Ronald Reagan is the only shining light, but seven of his nine tax legislations were tax hikes.

The book, “Clinton Clash” is perhaps better described as: A morning in the life of Trump. Seriously, the Clinton “scandals” described in the book are merely “accomplishments” Donald achieves by teatime.

Isn’t it time that we finally recognize the truth in this election? The straw-man construct of Clinton as a pathological liar and Donald’s superior financial intellect and tell-it-like-it-is brashness are myths.

Hillary is an experienced stateswoman with international expertise, and Donald is the child in the room whom we all find adorable, then irritating.
