We’re not guilty of water crimes

Today I came home and noticed a bright yellow courtesy ticket on my door.

It said that we had operated our sprinkler system on a restricted day at 3:20 p.m,. My husband and I both have full-time jobs. I arrive home every day after 4:30 p.m., and my husband arrives home sometime after 7:30 p.m. We do not have the luxury of coming home in the middle of the day to turn our sprinklers on.

We have on several occasions noticed our elderly neighbor running her water all night long, and it runs down the gutter by our house. It is very unfair that the person who wrote and left this notice did not actually check to see where the water came from. Maybe they should be equipped with cameras, so that we could see where they saw the running water.

We honor all of the water regulations and don’t want to be blamed for someone else who runs their water any time they feel like it and it runs onto our property. This is very frustrating and it has happened before.

Please, City of Fresno train your employees to be diligent in accessing the situation correctly.
