PG&E gives bad advice

I am so tired of receiving leaflets in the mail from Pacific Gas and Electric that convey the “inefficiency” of our relatively new home that we built with the utmost efforts to make our home efficient.

Moreover, through the guise of kindheartedness and deep desire to assist in our alleged cluelessness and to encourage maximum efficiency and savings, PG&E repeatedly airs radio commercials that encourage residents to set their thermostats to 78 degrees! What?! Already, our family incurs a hefty bill of over $500 for setting our thermostat between 80 and 82 degrees.

If my family and I did this throughout the summer, our bill would exceed $1,000 each month! PG&E is getting away with this type of counsel! One would think that they do have the money to pay for their penalties. But then again, we might be paying, instead.
