Let’s do something about roadside trash

Right on about trash on the freeway, Susie Steffen (letter July 22).

No, you’re not the only one who sees the trash, weeds and dead landscaping. We need to take some pride in our city. I shudder to think what people see as they come into our town for the first time via Freeway 41. Trash is everywhere.

I am a cyclist and frequently ride up Willow Road from Friant. Talk about a pig pen – it’s atrocious! Or, anywhere on Friant Road for that matter.

When walking anywhere now I take a trash bag with me and it always ends up full. I would gladly pay a few more dollars in taxes to help get this city cleaned up. That’s a program I can get behind. I still say we should make those inhabiting the Fresno jail get out and do something productive.

Come on Fresno officials, look around.
