Contradiction, thy name is mankind
A recent letter to The Bee (letter July 23) is an amusing example of how contradictory we humans are.
The letter writer, a man from Hanford (Alfredo Archuleta), disapprovingly singled out by name another writer (John L. Smith letter July 19) for referring to gang members as “trash.” He accused the man of perpetuating “hate,” having a “better-than-thou” attitude, and said that people like him “are ruining this country.” He then advised us all to “look around and see the beauty we live in.”
But wait. In the midst of his don’t-hate-and-enjoy-the-beauty message, he managed to imply dislike of the police, and also to get in a nasty swipe at The Bee (“...what would you expect from this paper?”), presumably because The Bee publishes letters and commentary that offend the writer.
Just sayin’.
