Thank goodness for fact checkers
Thank God for Snopes.com. For those of you that pay attention to the news, especially on the internet, you have probably seen the latest uproar about the lack of diversity among Republican interns, as evidenced by a couple of pictures of said interns. As usual, the press and the Democratic Party are playing it for all its worth in an effort to convince us that the Republican Party is lacking in diversity.
However, a quick look at Snopes shows the story for what it is – a lie! The fact that it took me all of 60 seconds to discover this is indicative of the laziness the press. Here is what Snopes says: “The photograph is more indicative of the lack of diversity on Capitol Hill as a whole rather than among one party or the other.”
I encourage all of you that when you see stories like this, run on over to Snopes or one of the other fact-checking websites. You will be surprised to find out how often you are being lied to.
