Make lives matter in a positive way

A whole lot of people are out there claiming that “some” lives matter, but is anyone considering how any life matters? That is an issue that deserves some thought.

A life can be lived either positively, or negatively. If your life includes making an honest living, raising your kids, caring for your family and others, obeying the law and providing goods or services that are useful to other people, I’d suggest that your life matters in a positive way.

If, however, you spend your time on Earth yelling at other people, complaining about your situation, blockading public streets, looting businesses, throwing rocks at police, and demanding that the government take care of your personal needs, I would suggest your life is going in a negative direction. Such a life matters mainly because it hurts other people. About the best we can hope for is that a negative life doesn’t inflict too much damage along the way.

Positive lives are the ones that matter. Negative lives are nothing to be proud of.
