Remembering Dr. Jack Scott
The U.S. News and World Report’s ranking of Valley Children’s Hospital’s neonatal unit as one of the top 50 in the country is an honor for Fresno and the Valley.
My husband, Jack D. Scott, M.D., was a practicing pediatrician who took a year off for post doctoral work at Stanford University. When he returned to Fresno, he was the first in the nation to create a neonatal unit separate from a medical school. He developed Valley Children’s neonatal intensive care unit and set the pattern of excellence that continues.
A brilliant man, kind with a big heart, he died all too soon at age 53.
Margaret T. Scott, Fresno
