Big boys set bad example on watering

Is the drought over in Fresno?

The institutions that should be setting an example for us seem to think so.

Not a day has passed in the last two months that I haven’t observed Fresno State, various city parks in Fresno, hospitals, schools and cemeteries, watering on the wrong days and usually during the range of hours that no one should be watering even on their correct days.

Complaints to the city’s water conservation office are made and they call back with the news that Fresno State (for example) has its own wells and are exempt from the rules.

Nonsense. Fresno State uses the same aquifer that the city water department uses, so Fresno State is depleting our drinking water supply! President Joseph Castro should be ashamed.
