Hanson’s cherry-picked deceit
Victor Davis Hanson’s July 10 commentary was entitled “Will California ever thrive again?”
Huh? It is thriving.
California economic growth is outpacing most of the nation. The state recently became the sixth-largest economy in the world. Unemployment has dropped 8 percent in the last six years to 5.3 percent and is forecast to drop below 5 percent by years end.
The state’s GDP grew 4.1 percent in 2015. Its ag industry is twice as big as the next biggest state’s. The real-estate sector is booming.
Ah, but we know why Mr. Hanson cherry-picked negatives to argue the state is failing. The state is run by Democrats. California’s success and thriving economy do not fit Mr. Hanson’s right-wing views.
I wonder if he’d write a commentary about Kansas.
