State-sanctioned suicides shouldn’t be OK
The political cartoon posted by The Bee on June 25 dramatically illustrates over 30,000 firearms-related deaths every year. According to the Centers for Disease Control, over 21,000 of those are suicides.
And yet, as of June 9 of this year, the state of California has allowed physicians to assist patients in their own suicides. So, as long as suicide is state-sanctioned, it’s OK? Really?
