The happy world of guns, bullets

The wild West dreams of toting guns everywhere you go is just that, a big dream perpetuated by gunslinger movies about cowboys and horse wranglers and cops and gangsters.

Back then you were supposed to leave your guns outside the saloon or when you visited the mafia don. They had common sense enough not to mix guns, booze and business.

Let’s paint that picture of everybody packing heat everywhere they go:

▪ Guns in church – great idea because there’s a place we should feel unsafe going

▪  Guns at the mall – excellent idea because the gang members (aka terrorists) who hang out there have them and every teenager and mom with her kids in the stroller longs to see a good gun fight

▪  Ditto for schools

Discounting people’s common sense not to shoot and some people’s attitudes regarding their right to shoot first and ask questions later, puts us in a place where we have to be hyper vigilant and paranoid all the time.

That’s a happy world my friend, happy indeed.
