Trump hat is OK by me

I cannot believe what we have come to! To the alleged offense of stirring “negative emotions” by wearing a cap that says, “Make America Great Again,” would the offended party prefer it to refer to something negative about America?

Would that be OK? What are the limits? Why should a socially conscious 9-year-old who seemingly takes pride in his country have to pander to an overly sensitive, vague, and uninformed response? Where are the lessons here?

Does the hat in question convey obscenities? No. Does the hat in question denigrate any group of people? No. If the student respectfully removed the cap when in class as a gesture of proper respect and decorum as with any cap, then what exactly is the issue? And is anyone actually learning from it?
