In defense of Fresno police
After reading “Lawyer: Fresno police shoot without fear of reprisal” (Fresno Bee, May 21), I would love to know how long attorney Arturo Gonzalez (who is representing the family of Veronica Canter) would have waited to shoot Ms. Canter as she’s coming at him with knives in both hands? Ten minutes? Fifteen? I don’t know, maybe let her attack and maim him first?
Unless you are Bruce Lee, most normal people would have no clue how to save themselves. In this case, the gun won. In the next, I hope the officer still wins even though he or she is afraid of the ramifications from attorneys like Mr. Gonzalez.
