Blurred lines of capitalism and socialism

Regarding “Capitalism powered FDR’s New Deal” (May 13 letter):

Our military, American taxes, hardworking sacrificing Americans, American material, American leadership and much luck were instrumental in our shared Allied victory in World War II. Also, Allied military, Allied taxes, hardworking sacrificing Allies, Allied material, Allied leadership and much luck were instrumental in our shared Allied victory in WWII.

In addition, William S. Knudsen and Henry J. Kaiser were great American leaders and deserve every bit of praise for their essential leadership in the overall Allied victory in WWII.

Every capitalist country is a bit socialist and every socialist country is a bit capitalist. Just a feeling, however, the varying political decisions survive on the distinctions between total perceived capitalist and total perceived socialist. Someone being played is another definition of politics.
