You made this veteran’s day
I was feeling low one Sunday morning, so I decided to do something I rarely do. I put on my “Vietnam Veteran” cap purchased at the Vietnam Memorial during a visit in Washington, D.C., with a couple of my veteran buddies.
The reason I say I rarely do it is because I'm not the type to wear my service as a Marine on my sleeve. This time, I just needed to feel good about myself. So I decided to have menudo at Bobby Salazar’s in Clovis. The menudo was great and so was the service. After I finished, I asked for the bill, the waiter said it’s been taken care of. When I asked by whom, he said they wanted to remain anonymous.
I can’t express the feeling that came over me. That made this old Marine’s day. Regardless of what some right-wing wacko may say, this is a great country. I thank so much whoever paid my bill. Let’s continue to support our veterans, remember our fallen heroes, appreciate our POWs and hope that all our MIAs come home soon
