My house is not the problem
Upon returning home from work, I found a notice attached to my front door with bold letters stating “Public nuisance warning notice.” I thought it was at the wrong address – our yard is clean.
But the notice says to immediately prune juniper bush to 3 feet tall (our juniper is 5 feet tall). According to the city, the bush was obstructing view of traffic, which wasn’t the case. I found this insulting, for just down the street from my neighborhood there are homeless camps set up, one location in particular loaded with shopping carts, blankets and trash.
I found this notice very rude, for we keep up our property. My husband and I have concluded that the city of Fresno will always look trashy because there is no money in it for the city to clean this public-health hazard up (it cannot fine the homeless).
However it can fine law-abiding productive citizens. It’s time to clean up Fresno, and it won’t be accomplished by harassment of taxpaying citizens.
